Personal Medical Alert Systems

If you are uncomfortable about calling a monitoring center manned by a professional staff for your emergency needs, you may consider an off the shelf medical alert system. With this, you would not be a subscribing to a monitoring center. You would simply need to purchase the equipment, install it in your home, and program the numbers you wish to call in cases of emergency. They could be emergency services such as 911 or friends and neighbors.
Some off the shelf medical alerts allow you to have a two way conversation if you are close enough to the base station, or even from your personal button. If you are unable to speak, pressing the button will send prerecorded messages to the recipient instead.
One advantage of monitored systems is that you can be assured that there is someone who can pick up your call at any time. If you go through medical alert systems reviews you may find that not all systems are the same and there could actually be one that would suit your needs and preference.
